Fermium – a rare earth metal with a half life of 80 days. And an electronic music project from 1999 to 2005.

Fermium started as a production group focused on live performance. All albums released by the group were recordings of live shows, mastered to resemble studio productions. Several tracks from these releases have been used as background music for MTV shows.

The production work evolved into tampering with and remixing others’ music in a set of remix sets called YFCD’s (Your Favorite CD). These remix/mash-up sets were also performed live – though YFCD releases were a combination of live and studio work. The YFCD remixing and mash-ups evolved into Système-D.
